Alexander Youth Network believes that in order for healing to begin for our kids, we have to care for the whole child. This means not only providing treatment and services to the children in our care but assisting their families as well. The COVID-19 pandemic has had disastrous impacts on many in our community, including the families we serve.
However, through the generosity of one of our donors, Alexander has able to lend a hand when a family has a critical need.
One family receiving services was struggling to pay rent due to job loss and suffered another blow when their refrigerator quit working. Their case coordinator immediately jumped into action and applied for funds through the Alexander Children’s Foundation’s Critical Needs Fund for the purchase of a new refrigerator. Alexander was able to not only purchase a new refrigerator but also have it delivered and installed within 2 weeks so the family could have a place to store fresh food to eat.
We are blessed to have supporters and donors who understand the needs of our community and are willing to lend a hand.
For the past 6 years, Alexander has been fortunate to have donors who help meet the unexpected, and often one-time, needs that have a huge impact on the success of treatment. Many of our families are facing multiple burdens of everyday life on top of raising a child who is having difficulty with a mental health or behavioral health diagnosis. We are thankful we can ease that load by providing top quality treatment for their child and also help meet their basic needs if necessary.
Thank you to all whose gifts are making a difference and changing lives!
