Coach Dan has been an integral part of the Alexander Youth Network family as a Physical Education Instructor at the Charlotte Residential Treatment Center for over four years. With a teaching degree and a passion for innovation, he brings creativity and dedication to every activity he leads. “I want to give these kids an outlet—a place where they can try something new and discover strengths, they didn’t know they had,” Coach Dan shared. His commitment to helping children grow shines in everything he does.
Coach Dan’s creativity is evident in the variety of activities he hosts, including fun marathon runs, disc golf, soccer, basketball, baseball, and more. Beyond sports, he’s also introduced the kids to artistic hobbies such as jewelry-making and pottery. Recently, he worked with the children in our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility and Charlotte Day Treatment programs to create beautiful pottery pieces. Reflecting on the project, he said, “Watching the kids light up as they molded and painted their pieces was so rewarding. It’s not just about the art—it’s about giving them a sense of accomplishment.”
Coach Dan’s ability to engage kids in meaningful ways that encourage growth and confidence sets him apart. “Whether we’re on the field or in the classroom, I want to make sure every child feels seen and supported,” he explained. His energy and enthusiasm inspire kids to step out of their comfort zones and try new things, fostering a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive.
Alexander Youth Network is incredibly grateful to have such a dedicated and versatile leader on our team. Coach Dan’s innovative spirit and unwavering dedication make a lasting impact on the lives of the children we serve. “These kids have so much potential, and I’m just glad I can be a part of helping them see it,” he said. Thank you, Coach Dan, for everything you do to inspire and empower our kids every day!
