Dr. Van Catterall Celebrates 26 Years at Alexander Youth Network!
Happy 26-year “AYN*niversary” to our Chief Clinical Officer, Van Catterall, Ph.D.
After working with Youth Focus, Dr. Catterall officially joined the Alexander team in 2019 with the Youth Focus merger. As a clinical psychologist, he spent much of his early career working with children in a PRTF setting. Joining Alexander meant being a part of an agency with extensive state-wide experience in serving children with all levels of behavioral health needs.
“As an agency, Alexander has a very strong sense of mission as part of its culture, and I see that reflected in my fellow team members every day,” Catterall said. “Sharing the values and mission with the entire team at Alexander means working together to improve the lives of children and families across the state of North Carolina, and that is very important to me.”
“Helping young people recover from trauma and assisting them in developing resilience and tools for future success are really two sides of the same coin, and are essential to the work we do at Alexander to help children reach their potential and flourish,” Catterall said when asked what he enjoys most about working at Alexander.
“It is a daily privilege to be part of the team process at Alexander that brings about positive change in the lives of so many children and their families,” Catterall said when reflecting on his career at Alexander. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with amazing team members who bring such a range of individual talent and strong dedication to their work with children.”
Dr. Catterall, your invaluable contributions to Alexander Youth Network are deeply cherished. Congratulations on your anniversary!
