Carrie Spencer Celebrates 25 Years at Alexander Youth Network!
Happy 25-year “AYN*niversary” to our Contract Specialist, Carrie Spencer!
Carrie first joined Alexander Youth Network as a Recreational Therapist back in the late 1990’s and through the years, has worked in many different positions.
“I’ve always been passionate about working with children and believe strongly in the AYN mission. I also loved the campus, especially the nature trails and the centralized playground. As a recreational therapist, those things were important to me,” Carrie said.
Carrie has worked as a recreational therapist, in our PRTF cottages, the afterschool program (along with driving the afterschool van), medical records, case management, Intake (Access), and now, in Credentialing & Contracting.
“I have felt challenged in all the positions I’ve held at AYN as things never seem to stay the same in providing care in this environment. Also, Alexander has been extremely flexible with my work schedule as I raised my family. Most importantly, they have enabled my professional growth and supported me as I moved into many different roles during my tenure at AYN. We’ve always had a great team of people who were very supportive of each other,” Carrie stated.
When asked what she was most grateful for during her career at Alexander, Carrie shared, “I’m most grateful for seeing the children make progress and better themselves, some of whom have even connected with me after reaching adulthood to let me know how they are doing. These interactions have always made me proud of where I work and our mission.”
